Snatched is 25% laugh-out-loud funny, and 75% cringe-inducing embarrassingly bad. The premise is that Amy Schumer gets dumped by her boyfriend and decides to take her mom (Goldie Hawn) on a previously arranged vacation to Ecuador. Once there, they&#39;re kidnapped, immediately escape, and then are chased by the kidnappers.<br/><br/>The interesting mix of cast members, unfortunately, are given too little good material with which to work. Joan Cusack plays a former &quot;special ops&quot; who – upon retirement – cut out her tongue to avoid giving away any government secrets, while Wanda Sykes plays her friend and traveling companion. Goldie Hawn, returning to the big screen for the first time in 15 years, get old (so to speak) pretty fast. (At one point, Amy Schumer finds a family photo album that includes real photos of Goldie Hawn in her younger days.) Ike Barinholtz, channeling a young Robert Morse, plays Amy Schumer&#39;s very strange brother. Christopher Meloni had a brief but memorable partan Indiana Jones-type character.<br/><br/>While set in Ecuador, the movie was actually filmed in Hawaii. (And looks like it.) <br/><br/>Snatched is similar to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 with the 25% good, 75% bad. See it now if you LOVE Amy Schumer. Otherwise, wait for the video. (Or, wait for two more 25%/75% movies to be released, watch all four of them simultaneously, and you&#39;ll be able to see one REALLY great movie.) I thought it was hilarious. I and the other 20 or so noon matinée crowd laughed all thru the movie. Couples and girl groups. I figured the turnout would be low due to Amy. I put that behind me, and I&#39;m glad I did. I love all the toilet humor. There&#39;s some good quotable stuff in here. I laughed at some parts no one else did because I understand Spanish, and the subtitles aren&#39;t what the coyote men were saying. I liked the film better than a couple of the blockbusters that are currently out. But, that&#39;s how the WoW rolls. The movie’s mother-daughter jokes are like firecrackers with damp fuses.
